Bubba likes Sunday too

In my personal (mental) series of “only in Texas” oddities, I have been inclined of late to rename it “ya jus’ gotta love Texas”….

Yesterday at my religion history lesson (a particular church sermon heavily laden with all sorts of old Egypt-Israel-Jordan geographic references) – before, during, and after the service – I noticed several unique characteristics of the congregation. Please know, I have always been one that prefers at least a casual (not even dressy-casual) wardrobe when attending Sunday service, and think everyone should wear the same (OK, call me a bit pretentious).

Somebody pinch me

Okay gang. That was the week from all-get-out.

Most of you know of this aged guy taking a major hickey test this week; studying like his life depended on it; stressing like a heart attack….

and about heart attacks, the musically talented lowly of a man Michael “has anyone seen my kids” Jackson died; and then of anal cancer, as did everyone my age’s fantasy girlfriend Farrah Faucett; and then of sadness and loneliness, as did second-to-none sidekick extraordinaire Ed McMahon.

History Blogging #1

Yup, history blogging for at least the next week. History blogging is simply updates on what has been going on instead of offering up advice and opinions, which in my case demands thought, typing, and editing. And not until after my “test” next week do I want to do any extracurricular thinking. So throw in a few photos, list what happened and when, and call this “Easy Blogging” if you want…. BCFBFF Jai Jai

For those of you blog regulars (that are still with me), you know I have a good friend – Jai Jai – that seldom holds back on commenting on most of my postings. Ya gotta love her…agree with her, no…but ya do gotta love her.

Well she’s needing some blogger love, thoughts, and prayers. The girl’s advisors (doctors) decided to give her a surgery opportunity yesterday – a couple weeks ahead of time. Just know, she would probably rather have been talking college football over lunch than dealing with this “recruiting violation”. Some chronic health issues lead to yesterday’s surgery and this morning’s text message saying she’s “sore but I’m in good spirits” was welcomed. Atta a girl!

T-minus 1 week

Sorry gang, I’ve studying for an exam lately and have neglected the ol’ gossip rag (aka The Blog). Hang with me – I will be through this in a week. Yessiree, I’m taking the LEED exam next Thursday morning. Please don’t ask me why because this old puppy-dog doesn’t always do well with new tricks. From what I’ve done online and studied to date, it would not surprise me to be taking the LEED exam again one day. Passing this test is becoming exceedingly discouraging each day.  I don’t rightly know whether it’s the difficult material needing learned, or the fact I haven’t … Continue reading T-minus 1 week

What Say Me

Needless to say, I’ve taken several days and stayed away from the ol’ Blog scene (and Facebook too). But I just can’t stay gone for long. So busy was I over the past several weeks, both professionally and personally, I actually slept when I would typically write a thing or two. But now I’ve caught up on some sleep (and work)…let me tell you all about it:

Picture-a-day (aka 365) has continued to “shutter”. Check out my Flickr site – the 2009-365 gallery kind of tells a story of the day-to-day experiences. It gets updated weekly (ususually on the weekend)….

Spent a weekend at Dad’s, along with brothers and family – I wrote about that on 5/22 but it is worthy of a repeat (in my biased opinion): Got in a partial round at least. That was fun but Dad was much too much on the puny side of health, but he’s good now (so he says). The real golf game is next Friday. Pride and beers are on the line….
