Good Morning Kansas!
I can only think of a handful of things that can top a Kansas sunrise (or sunset).
35 and counting
What a grand weekend! And boy howdy did I take a bunch of pictures!

The milestone 35th reunion happened at Hays High School. Despite a losing effort for the current Indians on the football field (losing to Garden City), those of us alumni able to attend the homecoming and reunion had a fabulous time…not just one evening, but two!
Our class of 190-something produced about 45 of us over the weekend. We all showed up to enjoy ourselves, the time spent with good friends, and to poke fun at the aging habits a handful of us seem to be developing. Better yet, little grief was taken on the thinning noggin, chubby cheeks, and the mid-section bounce that seems to have graced my curb appeal. I guess it is what it is, huh?

I like rain
It has been a while since it last rained in Texas,. Now when it comes…quick, grab the camera. With lake levels down 25%-35%, it certainly is a recordable event these days….
And as the preacher said the other day: “Lord, please bring us rain. Not for me – I’ve seen it before…but for my grandkids please”.
Thanks God! The 1.4″ last Friday helped a bunch!
Then again Sunday you gave us another drink from the heavens, be it ever so brief and small, it was, nonetheless, welcomed!
This weekend is it!
Our 35th high school class reunion starts tomorrow and goes through the weekend…and look what I found in the back of my closet! Continue reading “This weekend is it!”
The Big 12-10=2+14 Conference
Did anyone else N-O-T watch the Texas Shorthorns, Texas A&M Maggies, Texas Tech-Western Auburn University Red Taiters, and the Oklahoma Spooners over the weekend? Oklahoma State is “sooner” to join that list (because whatever big brother OU says, they do)…. I have no intentions to watch them, even when they play my beloved Wildcats of K-State.
Ahhh the foul-smelling list that already includes Nebraska Cornsuckers and Colorado Duffalos just keeps growing.
Why should we watch disloyalty football?

Weekly Photo Challenge: textured
Yello! I’ve landed…
So it’s 11:30 pm. Our plane is late arriving at DFW Airport. Sometimes at DFW it seems you spend as much time on the taxiway at this sprawling airport as one does in flight. Generally speaking, and I do so for and without permission of all the passengers on this particular flight…our patience with anything and anyone was thin.
So have you ever had the airline give you a seating assignment privilege of sitting beside, in front of, or behind the guy that reminds you of the kid that got beat up in high school all the time? Chubby, scraggly beard, geeky, big tear-drop wire rimmed glass from the 80’s, pastel-colored plaid shirt, pansy, penny loafers (with the pennies tucked in the slots), and a tone to his voice that makes you grit and grind your teeth…you know the type, right?
Giving up on Saturday Football already?
No way! But with the current state of mess at the NCAA and with all this “superconference” talk thrown about like a poorly schemed screen play, I think my study, thought, and enjoyment goes to the FCS teams around the country. They seem content to play football instead of banker.
It started with a game back in January. You know, I did go to that game and thoroughly enjoy sitting with the EWU folks. It was the Eastern Washington-Delaware championship game last season played in Frisco. It was a good time and I was glad to see Delaware beaten (for reasons I won’t go into here…and now). If interested, check out that post: Crown Those Champions
Deep breath…OK then
To my faithful limeyfishers, sorry. I had to recharge the body and soul, and in so doing got a bit lazy with the post-a-day thing I had going, and the weekly photo challenge (posting not picturing). So in a good ol’ fashion college try, I’m offering up
a few stacked posts over the next few days. Ya think that’ll get me back even?
If nothing else, it gives you something to read while you take that second drink of coffee in the morning.

Kettle enjoying
So it is that I got through the remainder of the pictures taken on the Canadian fishing trip last weekend. This was a really fun trip y’all. It is a time when all 3 sons got to spend some quality time together. Mostly, the three of us got to share the trip (and time) with Dad.
At this stage in each of our lives, we find ourselves pulling back together as a family. Our bonds seem to become stronger each time we are together. The joys, concerns, troubles, enjoyments, ribbings, teasings, adventures, journeys, trials, tribulations, risks, and sorrows we seem to share with each other more. What better people to share those with, than with family?
