The Apparently Summers Here Daily Cap(s) (106)

Nothing like having a fun, friendly family soccer game during the Sunday afternoon picnic outing...except for the one guy who looks a bit chapped about something...or maybe he's just cutting through.

...and the little girl could care less about some silly old game of kicking a ball around...she's got some orange shoes that deserve her undivided attention right now...that, and a cool refreshing soda.

...this guy has his investments under control...all you need is one pole with a bobber (and a pair of chest waders comes in handy at times)

...but these guys, holy cow...another one of those "family that fishes together" sort of gatherings - I have a gut feeling their pole-investment is not the priority here...

Now this, I'm all for: get cha a small Zebco pole from the local discounter and give it a heave-ho sidearm cast...and I bet this kiddo is full of questions

OK, you're good...enough of you and your fancy water skiing..'Hey Buddy! It's only April. It's supposed to still be a bit chilly out here on the lake. Grab a towel"

Does it get any better than a kid's dog anxiously waiting and proudly watching from the dock? I think not. This is good stuff...

The Lake Daily Cap(s) (97)

Is it...the family with the most (and biggest) poles, catch the most fish (or at least look the best in not doing so)?

You know they know who I am (or have seen me enough times) when they stop 30 yards from my truck and sing (gobble) a duet for me. That was pretty cool despite them being just a bit "pitchy".
The Peers, Colleagues, and Damn Them Convention Center Carpets Daily Cap(s) (96)

Leave it to a landscape architect to have such a handsome lime sherbet jacket (the patterned purple shirt up close was even better)...sorry for the lack of focus gang, but I bet you can get the gist.

My dear friend and former champion rollerskater Traci (we grew up professionally together don't cha know) enjoying the figure 8 railroad tracks found in the convention center carpet

The Nightmare Daily Cap(s) (90)

The guy I was with today had a golf club shaft and used it to poke at these creatures of questionable value (that is a strictly a personal commentary on my part...although don't try to argue differently with me please - you will not convince me otherwise)...like he wanted me to start screaming and see how fleet-of-foot this big ol' boy is when hightailing it.

My next design project involves dealing with the habitat of these "nasty disposition black water snakes - I say they are Diamoondback Water Snakes - with non-venomous bites" (did I say "bites"? Oh geez). It seems I have been challenged with re-designing a City park boardwalk that traverses over this snake pit/beaver dam. It will require additional field investigation, which in turn will involve countless hours of insomnia, sudden night time awakenings with sheet-soaking sweats, and Indiana Jones type of fear-facing. Am I getting paid enough?
Saturday Down By the Lake
The Fisherman Daily Cap(s) (84)

Fishing for fish so they can go fishing (why do I like to watch these guys do this...and end up saying the same thing over and over again?)
The Odd Daily Cap(s) (83)

And then at lunch...after 30 some years on not playing competitive basketball...I try to keep up with guys about half my age (it was not a pretty thing) (thanks JoeM for taking my camera off my desk and sneaking a few photos...thanks a whole lot)

Regardless of the handedness, I'm just not very good any more (not that I ever was). But you know last year at this time, there would be no way I could have gone 3 games with these punks. Thank heavens for the tonnage-loss program! Now if only I could do something about the stiff and soreness aftermath...

The Lincoln Daily Cap(s) (79)

I met my newest, bestest pal today. This is Lincoln, my all-of-24-hour old grandson. He pooped twice, peed twice, and got feed once. Good to know what is going in is coming out a-ok. All is well - they go home tomorrow (Tuesday).
Fun(ny) With the FD

POW 3-7-2012
For those of you that follow or happen across this blog, please know I do an email distribution of odd, funny, peculiar, and sometimes cool photos discovered throughout any given week. Most of the photos are of signs, or drive-by and/or while-driving observations. Now please understand, I’m not always regular (probably a poor choice of word there) with my POW (Pictures Of the Week) emails. I’ll try to be more consistent, and by posting here we’ll see if that so moves me to be better about my regularity.
These photos are different (at least up to this point in time) than ”The Daily Cap” series. And for those of you already on the email list that also read my blog, you get POW’d twice….

I’m not sure whether the wind blew away the rest of the signs, or if this is it…”as” if this will make be stop and shop cars, right?
