The TGIF Daily Cap(s) (153)

I can shoot overexposed butterfly pictures on any day, not just Fridays. (but there is something dramatically appealing about this photo, agreed?)

Even when you’re expected, wandering about the ball park on a Friday morning taking pictures (and not just of goofy shots of me in front of odd signs or eating donuts in the parking lot) certainly brings out inquisitive folks (and cops)…

The Friday evening nightcap at Rooster’s….now let’s see here, hmmmm….donut in the morning then a cheeseburger, pulled pork nachos, and a cold beer tonight. No wonder I’ve got a gut ache and my tonnage-loss program has been significantly compromised.

The Home Town Face Daily Cap(s) (148)

Coming home from “the wedding” today, I finally took a few minutes to photograph a few old building facades I’ve meant to shoot for the past several trips through town. This establishment was located in Calvert, Texas

Most of you know how I like the hand-done signs…notice there is no sidewalks to the door and you gotta love the patchwork shingles. Who wants to bet the BBQ is good? I think this was in/around Reagan, Texas….

Another Masonic Lodge (this one with bricked-in windows) to add to my clandestine photo collection of this organization’s place of congregation….

You’ve really got to go to a small town it seems to find a Rexall Drug store these days…Hearne, Texas

The Desk Junk Daily Cap(s) (137)

A little bit of everything to treat what might be ailing ya (except for the Princess Zoey vet bottle for a stool sample…no worries, it’s still empty y’all)

Not on my desk, but still an every night occurrence: Princess Zoey takes on the front yard gecko through my office window…..

iPad cover, Mackie Queen of Scots medicine, and sketch books…always have plenty of sketch books around

A song that every Dad should teach his children to sing , regardless of their age or seating accomodations, while in the car or anywhere the mood strikes…

The Lemon Minty Daily Cap(s) (133)

The Lemon Mint (Monarda citriodora), a wonderful Texas wildflower, is beginning to show off around here. Sometimes it is called Lemon Beebalm as it attracts bees when blooming, as well as butterflies and the occasional hummingbird.

I’ve been told it makes a nice tea, and it has been used in jellies and jams…not that I’ve tried any of that. Indian lore has it when crushed being used as a type of “Neosporin” for wounds, cuts, bruises, and the like…not that I’ve tried that either.
