Yes, you are seeing this right. There are ladders strapped to the trunk of the tree so that the homeowner could apparently prune (or should I say ‘carve’) the dead out of this poor Cottonwood tree. At least they took the ground ladder away while taking a break….
Yes Inga – those ladders were up there quite a ways. I stood there for several minutes pondering aloud this whole setting…stopping long enough that the guy walking with me (we looked like a group of homeowner’s no-gooders ladened with notepads, plans, fluorescent vests, and cameras) was getting nervous that the guy would see me staring at his tree and come out very confrontational…but he/she didn’t. Thanks!
