We picked her up from a young European college-bound lady on April 17, 2010 as an adolescent Scottish Terrier. We never knew her birth date, her birth parents, her puppy years, nor the challenges she faced early and the hardships she overcame with her first owners. We only knew that Ms. Leah rescued her from abuse, then entrusted us when college changed her ability to take care of Zoe. The Scottie Queen Mackie spent the day at home today, that is after first spending an hour at the vet’s getting blood work checked this morning. Those internal organs are being somewhat ornery, letting Mac’s liver function get back to “normal”, yet keeping us concerned for her kidneys (their behavior, much like a typical Scottie, remains abnormally “high”). She is looking much better, acting a wee bit more like the Mac of old, and thankfully still has her Scottie-ness, although it has been a bit dampened. It’s always a trying day when the Royals go to the groomer. As much as they like Suzanna the Groomer, they still tire by the end of the day. After all, the spa can be as exhausting as it is refreshing….
