Got to see a few of my old friends tonight. I love nights like these.
K-Berr (Kati) and Will got married in an outdoor ceremony…on the hottest day of the summer (so far). It was 107° on the drive to Burleson, but the Lone Oak Winery had a cooling breeze across its meadows and under their large shade tree. We left the reception at 10:30pm – it was stil 97°. Gotta love Texas in the summertime for sure.
It was a wonderful evening for the newlyweds and their guests.
Hmmm, lets see…how ’bout…
maybe a Bentley, or a Mazariti, or a Mercedes
No…perhaps a Jaguar, or a Maybach, or a Triumph, or a Lamborghini
I know!
A ’41 Ford Super Deluxe, or a ’59 Chevy Parkwood Station Wagon, or a 55′ Studebaker Speedster, or a ’38 Buick Roadmaster!
Hmmm is about right…. Continue reading “When I grow up, I want one of these”
Done deal!
Thanks to a simple email question from OFSIL Becky, it got the line cast and look what happened. Everyone got called and sure as a Canadian fishing license, father and sons are trekking back to Canada to try and catch more trophy Walleye this fall!
The four of us will be packing tackle and poles and head off to Halley’s Camps in Ontario!
And even better…OFB Tony gets to join us this time! Continue reading “Here we go again”
Full moon tomorrow…moon rise is at 8:45. Also if you’re in Africa or Europe Wednesday night, look to the night sky to see a blood-red lunar eclipse – the longest lunar eclipse in 11 years (90 minutes). The U.S. ain’t so lucky. We have to wait until December 10th. This is what we had tonight…and I’m going outside right now to take a picture using the tripod:
Is there such a word as “conservating”? Just asking…. Continue reading “Random stuff”
Now this is something I’ve got a whole lot of pictures of….
Most of you limeyfishers know how I like my sunrises over the lake. So I went through the 1,000+ photos of sunrises and pick a few favorites. Then I debated on whether to post them in this “challenge”. So I searched a bit more . I may have stretched the challenge (maybe I don’t think so now) by taking “morning” and figuring what pictures I had that showed something happening then.
What cha think?

Yeah…more golf. This time clips of our talent and prowness on a golf course:

Ready for Relay For Life golf tomorrow. No smack – not sure what’s up with that. But did get to see OFSIL SueB’s Scotties today. Smacking takes a back seat to those dogs every day. Continue reading Golf tomorrow, Scotties today

OFB TR started it today. There were a few barbs trade via email…creativity was shared without a tee time reservation.
Friday’s golf outing amongst the family should be fun, interesting, and full of…well…lets just saw if history is any indication of what’s in store for the course, I will need to be a designated golf cart driver for the “young’uns” and their run to the liquor store (losers by the beer) will be sobering. Dad and his 3 sons (the old timers 0r “old farts” if you’d rather) versus 4 of his 5 grandkids (the “Young’uns). It is safe to say we talk (and Photoshop) better than we play the game.
Here are the traded smack photos for today. I must say they are kind of funny. The photo-doctoring all started with OFNi Dani’s clever and humorous talent. Continue reading “Smack down golf”
This is the one week of the year that I dust off my golf clubs (more like clear off the cobwebs) and slip into my golf shoes (but check for spider nests in the toes first). Golf is played twice in one week’s time: Monday in Texas, Friday in Kansas (both charity fundraisers BTW). I play twice a year, and both those tee times are in the same week.
This is the week I also seek counsel from my clergy friends to help me through the next five days. My possessed golf clubs, when used infrequently, have a way of controlling a meek personality, any kind of recreational fun, and testing one’s conviction to the 3rd commandment. Maybe if I listen to gospel music on the iPod while attempting to play this silly game might help….hmmmm
So I didn’t get April’s birthdays posted so I combined them here. Only OFGrNe Mick had the only birthday in April that I know of. All rest have May birthdays within the family…I have 9 of them. I trust someone will tell me if I need to add more.
I do need some pictures from family….
In my vast library of photos I have no pictures of Chuck May…but then what would you expect since we haven’t hung out together since high school Wilson Lake and Steamboat Springs days.
Send me pictures and I will get these folks the photo recognition they deserve! In the mean time, I’ve robbed one picture from Facebook profiles (sorry gang).
Hope everyone had a happy birthday.
