It (the week) ends on a Friday the 13th, the only one in 2011, BTW. Maybe that’s why the commute tonight was “driving” me crazy. Folks were coming to a complete stop to make a turn, people were pulling out of parking lots across 2 lanes and unable to get in line straight…so both lanes are blocked, drivers were leaving 200 car lengths between them and the guy/gal in front (all that does is let people cut-in uninhibited). Everyone was being superstitious…yeah, that’s it, superstitious!
But lets not talk about friggatriskaidekaphobia, no, lets speak of LID! Continue reading “Oh what a week”
Being in the professional practice of creating, preserving, managing, and enhancing outdoor spaces, and knowing that a good understanding of human psychology is as much necessary as having pure talent, it is common knowledge that 11 out of 10 people prefer the sight, sound, touch and taste of water in their everyday life.
With this statement, I mean something a bit more intimate in our romance, longing and preference for the sight/sound/sensation comfort of water…something other than the shower, brushing your teeth, or a toilet flush.

Stormy weather has the gerbils that run the wheel that powers my DSL service hiding under the couch tonight. They have sought shelter much like the Royals have tonight (both in bed with me…one at my feet, the other laying across my waist). It is times like these that make you shake your head in sadness at how dependent we’ve (I’ve) become on our instant access to the www in our lives. I might try to find a paperback book and read for a change…might even take hand written notes. Egads! Continue reading Gerbil DSL
Can the weekend’s luck be measured? I think not.

It started Friday with OFNi Whitty and beau Stephen coming to see us for dinner. They were only in town for a few hours. We laughed, ate fajitas, and towards the end of our meal started talking about body jiggleness in a bathing suit clothing line idea…I paid the bill and not (paid) attention, thankfully.
Saturday, after watching the goings on at the Lake in the morning with the sailboat racing (or was it just an “exercise? Either way, the new zoom lens came in handy), look who came to see her Mom! Continue reading “It was far from a typical weekend”

Apologies are extended for my ever so brief outburst of political common sense posting Thursday.
At the suggestion of two of my most vocally faithful limeyfishers, I am back to hugging the trees and taking in life as it presents itself. Bec and Em, what was I thinking? The same old, same old post content is so much more fun, more fun…..

Now these are funny. Email Humor Received (EHR) by way of YouTube
From my buddy Joe M: I swear Mackie the Queen of Scots could have this same conversation with me…and agonizing over Zoey the Princess of Scots being in the house…hahahahahaha, oh my belly!
I have officially decided that I will no longer post pictures on this blog for fear it might incite some people into not providing me comic relief opportunities (my silly every-day-America photos). It just might also cause my faithful readers to question my genuine intent, trustworthiness, integrity in bringing you the most authenitic photographs possible…believe me, I really ought to take a break from the camera and learn Photoshop if I’ve got to start doctoring photos for you guys from here on out. This morning, for the first time in about 2 weeks (maybe more), we finally had a sunrise visible to those of us that enjoy sunrises and look forward to each day’s arrival….
The fisherman, both human and aviarian were out; the morning temperatures were cool, the air refreshing,
As my massage therapist told me yesterday – yes I got a fourth cupping during a 1-hour session, and yes again, Tony is working wonders on this big ol’ body of mine – saying “you go to the sunrise for a reason…you just may not realize what it is yet”. That’s another blog post for sure!
In the mean time, know that I enjoyed today’s sunrise over Lewisville Lake, as did this young family…. Continue reading “Rise and shine you cute ones”
Off I went Sunday afternoon to the Texas community of German hertitage, Muenster Texas to partake in the food and festivities of their annual “Germanfest”.
Muenster is about 75 minutes from the house and I enjoyed the three thunderstorms I managed to drive through safely to get there.
And once there, about three more downpours provided more excitement as they thundered through Muenster. The festival was ready for the weather however – numerous big tents provided shelter from the rain and 30mph north winds for all those in attendance that wanted the protection. The music kept playing and the homemade brats and kraut kept cooking despite the weather’s inclemency. Grand time! Continue reading “Germanfest”
Storms in North Texas has had the Internet service intermittent at best. I would rather not post from the iPhone but sometimes I’ve got to,,,, BTW, “postaday2011” is 1/3 over! Happy MAY Day!!! “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.” – Berke Breathed Continue reading MAY Day backstroke
