Keep your shirt on
CAUTION: those with a weak stomach may not want to open this post – take my word for it. You’d have to “open” the post to see for yourself and by then you might lose your meal.
Remember a few weeks ago I posted that my tennis elbow-ment got checked out? You know, the doctor had me diagnosed in 1 minute and had the surgery papers ready to sign in the next minute…and I told him I need alternatives and he got offended with me. Ah yeah! OK…
Well I never went back to him, instead opting for an “alternative” I found on my own. Continue reading “Keep your shirt on”
Weekly Photo Challenge: Old
This is a fun topic this week – thanks WordPress.com! I’ve got lots of “old” I could share.
My camera is always in search of that old setting regardless of the subject. It seeks out the “old” like a magnet to metal because “old” will have character and personality unlike what you get with something built of more youthful age (unfortunately that also goes for people sometimes).
Call me sentimental, or perhaps it was fate…maybe ironic, but this song came up in the play order from my iTunes while posting the pictures. Play it – I bet you even know the lyrics. Enjoy the music while you enjoy (hopefully) the photos.

Irish Blessings
Leftovers from St. Patrick’s Day…but these are not a one day recitation. All year long they are with meaning:
“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
“May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live”
“May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day. May songbirds serenade you every step along the way. May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that’s always blue. And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.”

Let me tell ya a story about a man named….
Hey! Granny fell off!
So it was, I admit, I delayed traffic on the commute home Thursday evening.
But you tell me…what right-minded photographer wouldn’t have done the same if they happened upon an interesting vehicle traveling the same route as you, right?
Don’t you know I excited the highway and waited on the service road for him to pass…twice. His top speed was 40. Any faster and the plywood would have set sail, and the rail nails popped out.
Ya just can’t (you have to pronounce that “caint”) get much more bubba than this. Continue reading “Let me tell ya a story about a man named….”
April Madness
At the main office of my employment, youth is slow to move along this time of year. College basketball inspires a select group of players with a stirring of competitive juices. And then they get after each other for nothing more than braggin’ rights for 11 months, or for some smack talk at each pickup game throughout the year. They are a fun lot to be around and watch.
They also make me very tired just observing…. Continue reading “April Madness”

A little bit of envy in the best of us
“Harvey and I have things to do… we sit in the bars… have a drink or two… play the juke box. Very soon the faces of all the other people turn towards me and they smile. They say: ‘We don’t know your name, mister, but you’re a very nice fellow.’ Harvey and I warm ourselves in these golden moments. We came as strangers – soon we have friends. They come over. They sit with us. They drink with us. They talk to us. Continue reading “A little bit of envy in the best of us”
Family March Birthdays

March birthdays within the family…I have 8 of them. I trust someone will tell me if I need more.
I do need some pictures from family….
In my vast library of photos I have no pictures of David McRae, Sally (May) Crawford, nor any of Morgan May. Don’t make me come over there and take pictures of you guys…OK, do. Who are these people any way – just kidding :)
Send me pictures and I will get these folks the photo recognition they deserve! In the mean time, I’ve robbed one picture of each from Facebook profiles (sorry gang).
Hope everyone had a happy birthday. Continue reading “Family March Birthdays”
Oh so pleasant
Sunday’s sermon at Denton Bible Church was particularly good today. Pastor Tommy Nelson was on his game, or maybe it only seemed that way since what he was saying, spoke to(of) me…but then I have yet to find a sermon where Tommy was not on his game.
Today was about bitter people, their unhappiness; how God does not want one to elevate oneself, nor become self-righteous, arrogant, offended, vengeful, and judgmental as that is what causes the bitterness and lets Satan into your life. He assured us all that “the upholding of the kingdom of God does not rest on me (you, us)”. Those causes of such things…well just “let it go”. Know: God can and will handle it for me (you, us) instead. And in so doing (“letting it go”), those that can hold their tongue are truly blessed – those that cannot are a curse on man in His image. Man About Town
Fun is being had in NYC right now. Grandpa is being escorted about town by his three lovely granddaughters. They seem to be having a blast by the looks of the pictures coming from the girls? So here I sit halfway across the country trying to document and keep up with their fun… Continue reading “Man About Town”
EHR: Things People Pass Around
This EHR (Email Humor Received) share will go without acknowledgment of its sender. It just wouldn’t be the OF brotherly-blog thing to do after all. But know this well: limeyfish.com does have some standards to live up to, by, or around. In the mean time, oh my big ol’ belly hurts from laughing too much! Continue reading “EHR: Things People Pass Around”
Have truck, will move
It’s considered bad presentation to begin with an apology. But I will anyway. The post-a-day is lame today, I know. But I have what I think is a pretty doggone good excuse…. Continue reading “Have truck, will move”
Weekly Photo Challenge: Ocean
And here I thought the Weekly Photo Challenge was “Beach”….
When you say “beach”, I’m not thinking of the local beach down by the lake. “Beach” = Ocean, and it has been since August of 2007 when the last time I step foot in one (ocean). I am of the recent opinion that that fact in itself qualifies for a much needed “beach” vacation…I’ll be in Galveston for nearly a week next month! Maybe that will count as long as I avoid the jellyfish and tar balls.
In the mean time these photos will have to do: Our trip to New England. What a blast this was. FD took the train from NYC to Providence, FS flew with us. The four of us – most likely our last foursome vacation – was very special. Continue reading “Weekly Photo Challenge: Ocean”

Who got me on this mailing list? It came Saturday.

A week (weak) of interest
Despite the fact of having a blog, trying to write a post-a-day all year long, and linking it to Facebook and Twitter, I really don’t mean to go on and on about the life and times of…well…Mackie and Zoey.
I’m probably the first in line to get somewhat disinterested at those posts that each day describe the length of toenails, the loudness of steps others take when you’re sick or still hung over from the night before, or the amount of Friday donuts consumed by a least favorite person at work…for example. So this week I do it again.
No one will convince me otherwise: you create your own interest in life and you alone choose to share it with humor, pity, blandness, annoyance, or not at all. Some might say I’m doing a self-description (did I mention conceit, self-infatuation, and boastfulness?), but whatever it is, here goes my week log – whether it is interesting or not, is up to you: Continue reading “A week (weak) of interest”
