The title is a quote I’ve long since forgotten its origin, but for any of us needing some tranquility in our lives, perhaps a few repeat chants of the quote and witness to a spectacular sunrise might make for a better start to your day. Stop and smell the roses; Stop and take in a sunrise, or a sunset; Stop and hug a tree (and a loved one) sometime soon.
This 1/26/2010 sunrise over the marina at Lewisville Lake was another welcomed scene that I have enjoyed on many, many a mornings about a half mile from home. (And for anyone that ties up here, call me…I’ll bring the coffee and donuts in exchange for a boat ride at sunrise). This shot was taken with my FugiFilm FinePix S5700 in an unsafe, ill-advised fashion (why it is a bit unfocused). Regardless of its amateur-ish composition and execution, the picture still reminds me of yet another quote from an often read, personal philosopher of choice:
“My profession is to always find God in nature” Henry David Thoreau

What a beautiful start to the day – in both visual and spiritual form! :o) Becky
