Woo Hoo! It is Friday!

And a special Friday it is.

Because….don’t you know…it’s…

“Celebration of the Senses Day” where everyone should stop somewhere along today’s journey and watch (see), taste, feel, smell, and listen to somthing…somewhere.

No?

Don’t want to do that?

Then there are these “holidays” to account for today:

Take Your Dog To Work Day (sorry guys…I guess I should have sent that notice out yesterday, huh?),

Then we also have the Ugliest Dog Day (which may or may not have something to do with non-dog loving co-workers if you practiced the aforementioned holiday),

And of course, what each of us wait for each and every year…today is International Fairy Day.

Today wraps up celebrations that I, in particular, did not participate in…those being “Meet a Mate Week”, “Carpenter Ant Awareness Week (the exterminator – aptly named Got Bugs? – was out to the house just a couple of weeks ago counting my robust ant population in fact), and then there is what I’m truly regreting not having the privilege of knowing it is “Watermelon Seed Spitting Week” (and my Mackie Queen of Scots L-O-V-E-S watermelon).

And unfortunately, next week brings an end to the month-long festivities of, to name a few:

• National Accordion Awareness Month (I am well aware of what that instrument is and what it sounds like, thank you very much)
• National Bathroom Reading Month (now wait just a stinkin’ minute, does that mean next month I can’t….)
• Potty Training Awareness Month (parental hint: give them a bathroom reading assignment long enough, your training will eventually win out over any kid stubbornness that you might encounter)
• Rebuild Your Life Month (I’ve run out of nails and misplaced my hammer…)
• Skyscraper Month (why in the wide, wide world of tall buildings do we need this?)
• National Candy Month (here, here!)
• National Smile Month (because of all the candy?)
• National Fruit and Veggies Month (gee Mom…do I have to?)
• National Ice Tea Month (this is a year-long celebration in my opinion)
• Dairy Month (oh cheese!)
• Dairy Alternative Month (no soy for you!)
• Celibacy Awareness Month (no comment)
• Effective Communications Month (does blogging count as being “effective”?)

 And what might July bring? Hmmmm……
