Sad news fell upon the TNP family this past week. Long time engineer, company founder, friend, mentor, and a true man of God died Thursday afternoon. Gary Teague was a wonderful person. He conducted a fulfilled life in no uncertain terms. His was a life lived unconditionally by the Lord’s guiding hand. It is an honor to have known such a man.
As a truly well respected professional, Gary Teague introduced so many to a business philosophy of success through fairness, friendship, and mentoring. He restored my faith in business ethics and proved that a career-long professional success can be achieved through a life-long love for God, family, and friends.
It may be said Gary’s disease was unfair to him. On the contrary, it was fair in that he was able to accept his own mortality with the same grace and determination he had for business and life. It was also fair in that he was able to demonstate one last time to family and friends, the courage and humanity that was a part of his soul. He gave us all a new life goal in which to strive.
Gary did not suffer through his terminal disease, as he knew his life was full and rich, and to the very end was surrounded by the people that mattered most to him. What more can a man of God ask for?
We will bury Gary on Wednesday. His company will pause that day to reflect on his life, and then continue on in the tradition he built, structured, and maintained. His legacy will be celebrated through the lives of his family, business partners, employees, and friends. We grieve now because he is missed, but we do so with a knowing smile that Gary was able to say goodbye, was at peace with his life, and the gates of heaven stood wide open to welcome his arrival.
So long Gary, and thank you.
