Photos for a Year

  • 01/28/09: got the ice storm overnight and the Nandinas were particularly cool all ladened with ice
  • 01/27/09: about ran out of time – a metal urn on a shelf in the foyer (for now)
  • 01/26/09: traffic was a mess going to work…fog, 2 universities started the spring semester, and the crazies out there
  • 01/25/09: played with the flash around the house because I waited too late in the day to capture an outdoor shot
  • 01/24/09: cold day kept the camera in the bag most of it
  • 01/23/09: shot 12 pics today – struggled to make them any good; this guys stands guard at a private residence driveway next to a public elementary school. I’m still trying to read into the symbolism of it all
  • 01/22/09: driving range with guys from work…the video shot was much more entertaining than the stills
  • 01/21/09: hoofing it to a job site I had to turn around and photo the gas tanks in a business service yard (and then get out before they came asking what in the world I was doing)
  • 01/20/09: President-elect Obama makes it official this day – a history book rewrite kind of day
  • 01/19/09: MLK Day had government offices closed and activity at the Denton County Courthouse down to a few passerbys.
  • 01/18/09: dinner at Burt and Rita’s produced a few pics of the their grandkids but the sunset turned out (photo quality) a whole lot better – dinner and desert was really good BTW
  • 01/17/09: had to give equal opportunity to the 004 picture; back a Harold’s for more furniture stuff…this guy was leaning against the wall so I struck up an innocent, platonic conversation with him
  • 01/16/09: Almost didn’t have a worthy back today…and it still might be highly suspicious whether it is or not despite the post
  • 01/15/09: The All-American Front Porch
  • 01/14/09: This is a bit more challenging than I thought.
  • 01/13/09: There’s not much more that can beat a Ansel Adam’s knockoff photo of a majestic Post Oak tree in January (at least that I will post on this blog that is)
  • 01/12/09: The first full moon of 2009 is setting over the Lake Dallas Baptist Church
  • 01/11/09: Just a few favorite candies of mine (won’t last the month)
  • 01/10/09: The first full moon of 2009 rose amongst a cloudy night sky (and it was the closest the moon will be to the earth all year…so it was supposed to be ±10% larger than “normal”)
  • 01/09/09: We’ll see what happens – can a decent picture be taken every day? A Six Flags rollercoaster stands at the ready seen through the 2nd floor atrium window of the Arlington Sheraton
  • 01/08/09: a crisp air, chilly morning sunrise from my front porch
  • 01/07/09: while sitting in rush hour traffic north of DFW airport, here comes unAmerican Airlines – since they’re broke and they still owe Deb $1000 and 3000 frequent flier miles, I fuzzed the focus on them
  • 01/06/09: The office had it’s first Chilli Cookoff Contest – 4 entries…yours truly with the winning chilli
  • 01/05/09: an idle bungy-cord, slingshot ride for two in Dallas
  • 01/04/09: all these lady mannequins were standing (at Harold’s) butt naked before me…begging to be photographed. It reminded me of the girl shower scene in the movie Porky’s
  • 01/03/09: Harold’s liquidation provide a glimsp of a way-cool office – this was the front door that won’t be appreciated again
  • 01/02/09: a man walking his two dogs on a foggy morning (1/4 mile from my house)
  • 01/01/09: the intent to start this “quest” was there…I just didn’t pick up a camera to start it all off right
