The people you see…

…when you don’t have your camera. Dag-gum-it!

I am usually one to carry one of my two cameras around no matter where I go. Others are amazed the places I take my cameras, and even more surprised of what  pictures I take at these strange places. This 365 picture thing I’m doing has created a monster…and another appendage.

We did lunch at The Loophole yesterday. Sitting there eating my glorious Felony Nachos, enjoying meal-time conversation with Rachelle and Nick, when who walks in the door? None other that Jason “My Name is Earl” Lee. Mind you, I didn’t recognize him (if he’s not a Star Trek actor, should I even concern myself with any others?). Rachelle leans over and says “should have brought your camera” and pointed. Jason had a really nice Nikon (his appendage?) with him. I thought that’s what Rachelle was suggesting: he also totes his camera to strange places and we could have struck up a camera conversation. Of course my real thoughts were on this

Lee, Jason
photo from celebritywonder.com ...I didn't have my camera to take a picture remember?

is a real cool guy I’ve seen on the Denton Square taking pictures before takes his camera to  – no big deal…I can talk and compare cameras next time I see him. He’s just another guy having lunch with some friends.

But no! Nick and Rachelle collaborate and decide the guy is Jason Lee and I am SOL for blog material (little do they know I need very little material to blog- HA!). Jason has an entourage of 5-6 people including what they thought to be his former fiancee and mother of his child Beth Reisgraf. They had a kid bundled up in a stroller…not the kiddo named “Pilot Inspektor”. Now that’s a name ya don’t hear tossed around with the Tommy, Timmy, and Tammy’s of the kid world.

FD has a name for these kind of situations: A New York Moment, or something like that. Ya wanna know what I did for lunch today? I met up with a couple guys from a former employer…and had my camera with me at the table just in case another “Moment” tried to smack me in the mouth. (They thought I was crazier than all outdoors BTW). Lesson learned – I have 9 months or so left of camera appendages.
