Engineering Week at work kicked off with a baseball design challenge…Each team was given 5 sheets of newsprint to work with….Teams were challenged to build a newsprint support that would hold a baseball without tape, glue, or adhesive….Folding and creasing and racking the creative minds of many engineers….It sometimes became a balancing act….Did I mention it had to stand upright under the breeze of a large fan 42″ away…for 45 seconds?Oh yeah…and it had to be at least 18″ tall (more points were awarded for every inch taller)….Some failed….OK, more than one fell over….Some stood up to the breeze but were blown off the table (too bad for them)….Some were left to contemplate what the heck went wrong….And others celebrated the win….
Impressive work here…
