Engineering Week at work kicked off with a baseball design challenge...

Each team was given 5 sheets of newsprint to work with....

Teams were challenge to build a newsprint support that would hold a baseball without tape, glue, or adhesive....

Folding and creasing and racking the creative minds of many engineers....

It sometimes became a balancing act....
It sometimes became a balancing act….
Did I mention it had to stand upright under the breeze of a large fan 42" away?

Oh yeah...and it had to be at least 18" tall (more points were awarded for every inch taller)....

OK, more than one fell over....

Some stood up to the breeze but were blown off the table (too bad for them)....
