A first of many???

Darn tooting…I hope.

from womanaroundtown.com

Many of you know the FD has been persistent in becoming  a legitimate actor in NYC since graduating from NYU (all these abbreviations, for crying out loud…). She been at it for 10+ years, doing what she can to get noticed and polish her craft. Her professors told her it would be 10 or so years before she would get work (her body needed to catch up with her acting maturity is what I remember them telling her). Well looky here why don’t cha…it has been 10 years, she looks good (and a bit older), she has the work bit happening, now if only she could bank something for her loads of talent (patience Dad, it’s coming)!

Hot Spotting at Sam’s

Many things are good about Sam’s Club. You get a good product at a good price, and the people, at least those at my local Sam’s, are generally accommodating and nice to deal with…considering  Sam’s employees typically have little interaction with customers (besides at the checkout stand). The one shorts-biter thing about Sam’s is you’re gonna spend some bucks to save some bucks. When was the last time you got out of the store for less than $100? I’ve also posted their logo. Oh Nooo!

The NCAA and Big Sky Conference will probably threaten to sanction me now. Ahhh, probably not…I said it before the August 15th imposed mascot-change deadline so I should be OK.

One for the other half

castle4_HUGH'S PAINTING

From a family lineage and heritage perspective, the in-law side of the family has a pretty way-cool claim on history…a history of Scotland that is.

The Clan McRae is a proud and noble bunch. Their Scottish history speaks for itself. However, one of the most recognized icons of Clan McRae is not that of its Clan folklore and honor, but that of a small castle on a big stage standing in the middle of some really deep water.

Eilean Donan is the place. And today’s Clan McRae, worldwide, are the stewards of a wonderful Scottish destination. Continue reading “One for the other half”

It’s Finally Friday

This morning's "celebrate the senses day"....

Woo Hoo! It is Friday!

And a special Friday it is.

Because….don’t you know…it’s…

“Celebration of the Senses Day” where everyone should stop somewhere along today’s journey and watch (see), taste, feel, smell, and listen to somthing…somewhere.

No?

Don’t want to do that?

Then there are these “holidays” to account for today: Continue reading “It’s Finally Friday”

When I grow up, I want one of these

Hmmm, lets see…how ’bout…

maybe a Bentley, or a Mazariti, or a Mercedes

No…perhaps a Jaguar, or a Maybach, or a Triumph, or a Lamborghini

I know!

A ’41 Ford Super Deluxe, or a ’59 Chevy Parkwood Station Wagon, or a 55′ Studebaker Speedster, or a ’38 Buick Roadmaster!

Hmmm is about right…. Continue reading “When I grow up, I want one of these”

Random stuff

Full moon tomorrow…moon rise is at 8:45. Also if you’re in Africa or Europe Wednesday night, look to the night sky to see a blood-red lunar eclipse – the longest lunar eclipse in 11 years (90 minutes). The U.S. ain’t so lucky. We have to wait until December 10th. This is what we had tonight…and I’m going outside right now to take a picture using the tripod:

Is there such a word as “conservating”? Just asking…. Continue reading “Random stuff”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Morning

Now this is something I’ve got a whole lot of pictures of….

Most of you limeyfishers know how I like my sunrises over the lake. So I went through the 1,000+ photos of sunrises and pick a few favorites. Then I debated on whether to post them in this “challenge”. So I searched a bit more . I may have stretched the challenge (maybe I don’t think so now) by taking “morning” and figuring what  pictures I had that showed something happening then.

What cha think?

Memorial Day

It was a grand 3-day holiday weekend. This Monday also ended the National Backyard Games Week…Tuesday will mark the end of the National Barbeque Month. I did my usual photography stuff…I actually hopped on the bicycle and tooled down to the Corps Park for pictures this morning. We celebrate all that weekend stuff, and most of us, somewhere, sometime, somehow reflect on our fallen military heros. It truly was a meaning full weekend – thanks!

Oh what a week

It (the week) ends on a Friday the 13th, the only one in 2011, BTW. Maybe that’s why the commute tonight was “driving” me crazy. Folks were coming to a complete stop to make a turn, people were pulling out of parking lots across 2 lanes and unable to get in line straight…so both lanes are blocked, drivers were leaving 200 car lengths between them and the guy/gal in front (all that does is let people cut-in uninhibited). Everyone was being superstitious…yeah, that’s it, superstitious!

But lets not talk about friggatriskaidekaphobia, no, lets speak of LID! Continue reading “Oh what a week”
