For the Princess Zoey, finding the longest-lasting spot of sunrise on the dining room floor to warm her spirit is like for me, having that just-right cup of coffee in the morning. Continue reading The Daily Cap (11)

Zumba Zoey
When the FD was in town over Mother’s Day weekend a few weeks ago, we set up a twin bed for her in the living room (don’t ask…sore subject). Zoey found the accommodations to be of great convenience for her every sleeping and exercising need. Continue reading “Zumba Zoey”
The Queen poses
Mackie, Mack-a-do, Mac-a-roni, Mackers, Mack, Mack-Attack…I call her all those names, along with “Hey You Baby Girl”, “Such a pretty girl”, “Goofy Ball”, and “Goodness Sakes”. But mostly she is referred to as “Your Highness, the Queen of Scots”!
Her and Scottie Gal Pal Zoey get their hair and nails done tomorrow…they’ve been invited to Prince William and Kate’s wedding so don’t you know a gussey-up is warranted. Funny, the Royals always act as if they are embarrassed to have their pictures taken afterwards.

Tree Scottie
From my good friend and co-worker Larry, an avid mountain biker, who said he stopped along the trail and photographed this tree with my dogs in mind. It definitely looks like a Scottie dog. Is it Mackie? Zoey? from Texas. Perhaps Molly? Bonnie? visiting from Kansas. Continue reading “Tree Scottie”

Hound dogging at Westminster
Wow – it’s been 1 year since Sadie the Scottish Terrier won the Westminster Dog Show…it seems only like yesterday. Almost to the day one year ago I proudly wrote I’ll see your Sadie, and raise you Mackie – not the most popular of posts, but one of pride and contentment in so doing.

Something’s up.
We get a warm day for a change, the snow and ice pretty much melts away, reportedly some silly football game is about to be played soon in God’s Stadium (with the roof window closed I might add – you know who is gonna be mmmmaaaadddd!).

What’s got all the birds around here frisky, singing, and carrying on today?
Maybe the Groundhog told them about the coming of an early spring.
A snow day for most
Today it was cold, cold, cold, cold, cooooollllddddd for north Texas. It started with thunder-n-lightning rain about 3:30 this morning, then that turned to sleet about 4:30, and the wind chill was around 0°. Perfect weather for Mackie, Queen of Scots – she suggested we make the best of the day since there was no way the boss man was driving to Fort Worth today (and maybe tomorrow): Continue reading “A snow day for most”
Zoey, the Heir-Apparent
My apologies for the repeat, but I just had to give this first photo of Zoey its own billing. I had buried it in my “Aldo” post a couple of days ago because of the emotion in the stare and the content of the text I placed it in (stop me before I try to be creative again).
Aldo had it all together
Clear skies, 70°, and no sound of the neighbor’s lawn mower puts one’s butt in a patio chair in the back yard, dogs at your feet, a donned hat to shade the eyes (or protect the bald noggin), and you’ve blown the dust off a fine book worthy of an unseasonably warm January day read. Not too many books out there that fits that bill – maybe only one other… Continue reading “Aldo had it all together”
Of all the days today could be…
…it ends up being Squirrel Appreciation Day. Gee Whiz I missed it. Yup, I had my slingshot at the ready and could have taken aim.
The National Wildlife Federation came up with the nuisance idea. What were they thinking? Huffington Post gave it some press – the photos at the bottom of the webpage link are worth checking out regardless of your tolerance level for the ornery mammals.
