Tonight (last night) gave us full moon #1 of 2011. It is/was called a “wolf moon” – something to do with Indians hearing wolves howling at a full moon on cold winter nights. (HA! – It wasn’t me making all that racket).
This moon is supposed to be the biggest and brightest of the year. The elipical orbit of the moon puts it some 31, 000 closer to the earth, as it just so happens to be “full” in the night sky. Moonology 101, huh?
So I got up from this chair and step outside in the brisk evening air for pictures at midnight…just in case you guys slept through it.

It was truly beautiful! Thanks for photographing and sharing!
