Meatloaf and Marion Raven sing this love song classic, covered most notably by Celine Dion (songwriter Jim Steinman told Meatloaf to wait supposedly because he wanted a woman to sing it). Even after waiting to do the song, I’m thinking Meatloaf does it much better. Being another guy musician in my amateur voice range, I remember many a times, singing many a songs note-for-note with the Meat in the acoustical confines of, amongst many places, my Datsun 310GX for one:
I finished crying in the instant that you left
And I can’t remember where or when or how
And I banished every memory you and I have ever made
But when you touch me like this (touch me like this)
And you hold me like that (hold me like that)
I just have to admit that it’s all coming back to me
When I touch you like this (touch you like this)
And I hold you like that (hold you like that)
It’s so hard to believe but it’s all coming back to me now
