With the Groaning Grammy’s over (did anyone else think the Album of the Year artist had the worst performance of the night…and that Dave Matthews and Bon Jovi were simply great), let’s try something here. iTunes does this, why not us. List the top 10-15 songs in your favorite iPod/iPhone/MP3 playlist…now you can certainly do more or less. Here’s mine, this week:
- Nothing Ever Hurt Like You, James Morrison
- 5:19, Mark Wertz
- Let Go, Lindsay McCaul
- Where I Stood, Missy Higgins
- Closer to Love, Mat Kearney
- Surrender, Laura Pausini
- Sorrento Moon, Tina Arena
- Tell Him, Colbie Caillat
- Hide and Seek, Imogen Heap
- Love Love Love, Tristan Prettyman
- Change, Daniel Merriweather
- If You’re Gonna Leave, Emerson Hart
- Let It Be Me, Ray LaMontagne
- Nothing But a Miracle, Diane Birch
- Near To You, A Fine Frenzy
- Broken, Leona Lewis
OK, so I broke my rule by listing 16 songs…I can do that just because, and thus I give you my appropriately titled #16 song by Leona. You know I have 1770 songs on my iPhone – it’s tough to list my top 1%. And I didn’t even get to the Celtic, and Contemporary Christian genres in my other favorite playlists that have the propensity to pacify my soul (that would be my P2P Playlists), nor the rebellious Country (not all of it brings out the rebel in me) that I enjoy when my disharmonious car commute voice (that would be my CCV Playlists) is in tune with the music about as painfully sour (like close one eye and cock your head to the side painful) as Taylor Swift’s singing with incomparable Stevie Nicks…and I ask who was the short-careered music wizard that put those two together on the same stage?
Looking back at this list, it might best be described as “Rocking Alternative Pop croons with Celine” music – hey FS, what would you call it? (if you ever do read this, please be nice! )
They would have to pay ME to see Taylor Swift. She may be cute and young but the gal can’t sing! and she wins an armful of Grammy’s. I changed channels. Poor Stevie Nicks was thinking how did i get into this? On my bucket list is to see Dave Matthews live!
