….on a south-bound plane (actually east-bound)
I was headed down to New Orleans (who dat?)
To meet some friends of mine for the Mardi Gras (well no not really, friends of mine yes but more like the ASLA Annual Conference)
When I heard a voice from the past (nope – too many voices to find just one)
Coming from a few rows back (ok who dat weird guy in row 14 taking the backwards-looking picture?)
When I looked I couldn’t believe just what I saw…(sadly only folks I didn’t know…I was hoping for maybe one person. Hmmm, hope I got the right week to go to NOLA!)
South Bound Train
Written by Steve Goodman, 1975
The New Orleans son
My opinion, best recorded by Willie Nelson
(Steve Goodman is also the song writer that David Allen Cole referred to in his version of You Never Even Call Me By My Name, 1971)
